Note from our founder, Bobby Hambrick

On December 28, 2011, Truman Dean Hambrick was born. Prior to his arrival, we were told that he would have a very rare brain abnormality and an incurable disease that would forever impact his and our lives. At that moment, I knew that life wasn’t going to go as originally planned.

Having a special needs child is an immense challenge. Countless specialists, appointments and a continuous feeling of guilt quickly became the norm. On a more positive note, Truman has brought so much joy to my life and taught me more than anyone I've ever met. It is now incredibly clear to me why I was chosen to be Truman's dad.

Truman, his peers and the professionals who dedicate their lives to helping special needs kids are the inspiration behind The Hambrick Foundation. According to the CDC, one in six children in the United States have one or more developmental disabilities, requiring additional professional assistance. At the same time, there is a dramatic decline in those who are choosing a career path to assist the special needs community.

The first year of THF was exceptional for many reasons. In 2023 we were able to pull together an incredibly talented board of directors who have helped shape the master plan and the future of THF.

The plan is now being executed and we have provided many grants, impacting more than 20,000 exceptional children in 5 different states. In addition to the impact, THF has created robust operational processes and the capability to track progress as we grow and move forward.

This is an amazing start; however it is not nearly enough. We will continue to dedicate resources to ensure our impact increases exponentially in the coming years. We will add scholarships to our offerings, helping and encouraging those who decide to dedicate their lives to the special needs community. We are well on our way to achieving our goal: THF will become the world’s largest not-for-profit that specializes in supporting and inspiring those who support our special needs children. MUCH more is coming.

I am very proud of what our team has accomplished this past year and look forward to the incredible impact that THF will provide in the future. This is just the beginning!

Sincerely,

Bobby Hambrick
